Vintage Burger Signs

These are perhaps the antithesis to beautiful, traditional wedding flowers and soft silk materials, but I thought that they could work in an invitation for a fun and casual party.

I was inspired by the black and yellow sign for Jcrew's vintage shop, painted on a white brick wall. My idea would be to take these motifs and craft something that had a vintage burger shack or garage advertisement feel to it, using the populist colours and shapes of road trip highway signs, tatoos and pop-art items.

Either it would be a bunch of shapes super-imposed on each other or simplified into one logo and motif. The signs are mostly red anyway and the sky background, which I really love in the photos, is easily made into a more river blue. The favours could be stuffed into pagoda chinese take-away boxes or into red popcorn boxes or could go traditional with cake in a red box and contrasting silk ribbon.

Funny...it really is an indescribable zeitgeist of modern, casual and yet quality.
